Project PROFILE
| PROJECT PROFILE: | Suspended Central Span Bridge, Detroit, Michigan |
| COATED WITH: | Highland 475 Series Dry-Fall 2-K Epoxy Primer and 68 Series HiShield Dry-Fall 2-K Aliphatic Urethane Topcoat |
Bridges offer an obstacle course of coating concerns. There are the obvious problems of difficult and dangerous prep and painting conditions, extreme moisture and atmospheric conditions and expensive time-consuming brush and roll application to eliminate paint overspray damage.
A problem that is not as obvious as those mentioned above is paint damage that occurs during brush and roll application. Paint droplets from brush and roll travel long distances causing as much or more damage than spray application. With constant roadway and water traffic overspray damages can easily add up. There is a better solution!
Highland High Performance Dry-Fall Paint allowed fast and efficient spray application to the cables of this bridge with no overspray damages. Additional work to the body of the bridge is due to begin in the spring using Highland Dry-Fall solvent-borne coatings. The job will progress quickly – up to 40% faster than brush and roll saving time and money.
Highland 475 Series Dry-Fall 2-K Epoxy Primer is surface tolerant and will provide outstanding adhesion, atmospheric, and chemical protection. 68 Series HiShield Dry-Fall 2-K Aliphatic Urethane Topcoat will provide durable long-term UV protection and maintain its beautiful “Wet Look” automotive finish.
Without sacrifice to aesthetics or durability, Highland Dry-Fall Coatings give you the ability to complete coating projects quicker and without expensive overspray problems.
